Elevate your steak dinner with a luxurious red wine and mushroom sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 27.30 gm olive oil
  • 4 (150g each) beef minute steaks
  • 1 medium red onion, finely chopped
  • 150g button mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 123.75 gm red wine
  • 255.00 gm beef stock
  • 63.13 gm pure cream
  • Salad leaves, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a frying pan over medium-high heat, heat 2 teaspoons of oil. Season steaks with salt and pepper, then add them to the pan. Cook each side for 30 seconds for medium doneness or until cooked to your preference. Transfer the steaks to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.
  • In a skillet, heat up the rest of the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and mushroom, and sauté for about 5 minutes until the onion is soft and the mushroom is golden brown, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour in the wine and bring it to a boil. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the liquid has evaporated. Stir in the stock and cream and bring it to a boil again. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until it's reduced by half. Plate the steaks and top with the mushroom sauce. Serve with salad leaves.
