Spiced beef brisket slow-baked in Irish stout for 8 hours, yielding moist and flavorful meat - ideal for celebrating St. Patrick's day!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 large onions, sliced into rings
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3.5 cups Irish stout beer (such as Guinness®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) for optimal baking results.
  • Combine salt, black pepper, paprika, basil, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl, then generously season brisket with the spice mixture.
  • Layer the bottom of a roasting pan with onion rings. Place the brisket, fat-side up, on top of the onions. Sprinkle bay leaves around the brisket and pour beer over it. Cover the pan with an oven-proof lid or aluminum foil.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 8 hours until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (65°C). Rest for 1 hour before slicing.
