Delicious sticky char siu pork ribs served with flavorful quick fried rice.
Ingredients:
  • 140g char sui sauce
  • 21.00 gm soy sauce
  • 28.60 gm honey
  • 8 (about 1.3 kg) pork spare ribs
  • 450g pkt family size microwaveable fragrant jasmine rice
  • 9.20 gm peanut oil
  • 2 free range eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 red capsicum, finely diced
  • 100g green beans, finely diced
  • 2 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • 125.00 ml finely chopped fresh pineapple
  • 42.00 gm soy sauce
  • Thinly sliced green onions, extra, to serve
Instructions:
  • Mix together the char siu sauce, soy sauce, and honey in a jug. Arrange the ribs in a single layer in a large glass or ceramic dish. Pour the marinade over the ribs and coat them well. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  • 1. Preheat oven to 200C. 2. Prepare rice according to package instructions. 3. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spread cooked rice to cool. 4. Line a large baking tray with foil. 5. Arrange ribs on a wire rack over the foil-lined tray, saving the marinade. 6. Bake ribs for 50 minutes, rotating and basting every 10 minutes with reserved marinade until golden and sticky.
  • Heat a wok over medium heat, then add 1 teaspoon oil. Swirl half of the beaten egg in the wok until just set. Roll, slice, and set aside. Repeat with the rest of the egg. Use remaining oil to stir-fry capsicum and beans for 2 mins. Add back the egg, then toss in rice, spring onions, pineapple, and soy sauce. Stir-fry for 2-3 mins until heated through.
  • Top pork ribs with fresh, vibrant spring onions and pair with savory quick fried rice.
