Experience the bold flavors of char siu pork - a simple, budget-friendly Chinese classic to cook at home.
Ingredients:
  • 125.00 ml char siu sauce
  • 65.63 gm soy sauce
  • 30.00 ml Chinese rice wine (see note)
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1.2kg pork rib
  • Sliced green onions, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a jug, mix together char siu sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, and garlic. Place pork in a large glass or ceramic dish and pour over half of the sauce. Ensure pork is coated well. Cover and refrigerate for 4 to 5 hours, or overnight if possible.
  • 1. Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. 2. Arrange the pork on a wire rack in a large roasting pan lined with baking paper. 3. Roast for 40 to 45 minutes, basting with the leftover marinade and flipping every 10 minutes until cooked through. 4. Cut the ribs in half and serve, topping with onion.
