Indulge in creamy stuffed French toast with a sweet strawberry glaze and fluffy whipped cream for a decadent breakfast treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup mashed fresh strawberries
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 8 slices bread, cut in half diagonally
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 8 sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar for dusting
  • 1 cup whipped cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to a cozy 100°F (40°C).
  • Combine fresh mashed strawberries and a half cup of white sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
  • Combine the cornstarch and water in a bowl to create a smooth mixture before gently folding it into the strawberries.
  • Thicken by cooking and stirring for about 5 minutes. Then, lower the heat to simmer gently while you prepare the rest of the ingredients, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine the milk and eggs in a bowl and whisk until well mixed; set aside.
  • Combine creamy cream cheese, fragrant vanilla extract, and 3/4 cup of white sugar in a bowl, then mix until silky smooth.
  • Layer the creamy cheese mixture onto one triangle-shaped slice of bread and cover with another slice. Repeat with the rest of the bread and creamy cheese mixture to create 8 delectable triangle-shaped sandwiches.
  • Melt butter in a spacious skillet on medium heat.
  • Coat 2 or 3 sandwiches in the egg mixture and transfer them to the skillet.
  • Fry until perfectly golden on each side for approximately 3 minutes per side.
  • Move the pan-fried sandwiches to a baking sheet and keep them warm in the preheated oven while you cook the rest of the sandwiches.
  • Top your decadent French toast with a luscious warm strawberry glaze, fresh strawberry slices, and a dusting of confectioners' sugar. Serve alongside a generous dollop of whipped cream for the perfect finishing touch.
