Make a heartwarming Valentine's Day sponge cake to melt hearts.
Ingredients:
  • 350g double unfilled round sponge cake (see note)
  • 250g cream cheese, softened
  • 63.13 gm thickened cream
  • 8.80 gm vanilla extract
  • 250g strawberries, hulled, sliced
  • 165.00 gm strawberry jam
  • 12.00 gm pure icing sugar
Instructions:
  • Take the sponge cake layers and transfer them to a chopping board. Use an 8cm heart-shaped cutter to cut out 3 hearts from each cake. Carefully slice each heart in half with a sharp knife.
  • Using an electric mixer, whip cream cheese until velvety. Next, add in cream and vanilla and continue to whip until the mixture becomes thick.
  • Smooth the luscious cream cheese mixture onto the sponge cake bases, then layer on the sweet strawberry slices. Heat the jam in a microwave-safe bowl until warm and syrupy. Drizzle the warm jam over the strawberries for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Assemble with sponge tops, sprinkle with icing sugar, and enjoy.
