Spicy Hungarian peppers stuffed with savory Italian sausage, creamy cream cheese, Romano cheese, and aromatic herbs, baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 0.33000001311302 cup ground Italian sausage
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 0.33000001311302 cup Italian-style dry bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons grated Romano cheese
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 6 Hungarian hot peppers - halved, cored, and seeded
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat, brown and crumble the sausage for 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat and allow to cool for 5 minutes before using.
  • In a medium bowl, combine sausage, cream cheese, bread crumbs, Romano cheese, olive oil, garlic salt, oregano, and basil until fully mixed.
  • Fill the pepper halves with the savory sausage mixture and place them on a rimmed baking sheet.
  • Bake in the hot oven until the stuffing turns golden brown and bubbly, for about 20 to 25 minutes.
