Ingredients:
  • 1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 1/3 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (12 ounces)
  • 1 jar (14 to 15 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms (3 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F. Grease a 13x9x2 inch rectangular baking dish. In a 10-inch skillet, brown the sausage and ground beef over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once browned, drain the mixture and set it aside.
  • Combine Bisquick and water in a large bowl until a dough forms. Divide the dough into 2 parts, one slightly larger. Roll the larger piece of dough into a 16x14 inch rectangle on a Bisquick-dusted surface. Fold it into thirds crosswise, then place it in the center of a baking dish. Unfold the dough and press it on the bottom and up the sides of the dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese, followed by 3/4 cup of pizza sauce, the meat mixture, mushrooms, bell pepper, additional pizza toppings, and 1 1/2 cups of cheese.
  • Roll out the remaining dough into a 13x9 inch rectangle. Fold it crosswise into thirds. Place the folded dough over the cheese in the center of the baking dish and unfold it. Press the bottom and top crust edges together to seal them. Make small slits in the top crust. Spread the remaining pizza sauce over the crust and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake uncovered for 22 to 25 minutes until the edges of the crust are golden brown.
