Transform fresh cranberries into festive Christmas decor by coating them in sugar and displaying in a bowl or as toothpick accents on apples.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar, plus extra for coating
  • 1 fluid ounce water
  • 7 ounces fresh cranberries
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool until lukewarm. Stir in cranberries until coated. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight.
  • Prepare one baking sheet by sprinkling it with sugar for a touch of sweetness and line a separate baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up and perfect baking results.
  • After draining the cranberries thoroughly, coat them with sugar on a baking sheet. Then, transfer the sugared cranberries to a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Let them dry for 3 hours.
