Indulge in decadent apple butter, perfect for pairing with your favorite breads and breakfast treats!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • 0.5 cup apple cider
  • 4 pounds Macintosh apples - peeled, cored and chopped
  • 0.75 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup apple brandy
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, combine apple juice concentrate, apple cider, and Macintosh apples. Bring to a boil and then simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 1 hour until the apples are easily mashed.
  • Combine dark brown sugar, apple brandy, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves with the apple mixture. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 2 hours, stirring occasionally until thickened. Transfer the mixture to sealed sterile containers and allow it to cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
