Indulge in baked hot dogs with sweet onion sauce and gooey Velveeta® cheese filling.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®), cubed, or to taste
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 sheets aluminum foil
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for optimal baking temperature.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter until it sizzles. Add onion and brown sugar, cooking until onion softens, but not caramelized, for about 5 minutes. Stir in ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, then simmer. Finally, remove from heat and enjoy the rich flavors.
  • Make a slit in each hot dog and stuff with cheese cubes. Place the hot dogs in buns and top with 3 tablespoons of onion sauce. Wrap in aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the hot oven until heated through, approximately 15 minutes.
