Irresistible ham and cheese pastry fingers - a crowd-pleasing savory delight!
Ingredients:
  • 100g fresh ricotta
  • 25g sliced leg ham, finely chopped
  • 25g (1/4 cup) coarsely grated cheddar
  • 4 sheets (25 x 25cm) ready-rolled puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • 12.00 gm sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 220°C, and get those baking trays ready by lining them with non-stick baking paper.
  • Combine the ricotta, ham, and cheddar in a medium bowl, using a wooden spoon until thoroughly mixed.
  • Cut each pastry sheet in half and then cut each half crosswise into 4 equal pieces. Repeat with the remaining pastry sheets to create a total of 32 pastry pieces.
  • Place a generous 1 1/2 teaspoons of the ricotta mixture in the center of each pastry strip, leaving a small 5mm border around the edges. Lightly brush the edges with egg, then fold the strip in half lengthwise. Gently twist the pastry strip twice and transfer it to a lined tray. Repeat the process with the remaining pastry and ricotta mixture, then sprinkle with sesame seeds before baking.
  • Place in a hot oven for 12-15 minutes until puffed and golden. Let it rest for 15 minutes to cool down slightly before serving.
