Delicious buttery tarts with brown sugar-almond filling baked in a muffin tin with a hint of cream.
Ingredients:
  • 6 tablespoons butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333331346512 cup slivered almonds
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1.5 tablespoons cream
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine butter and white sugar until creamy. Add 1 cup of flour and mix until a smooth dough forms. Divide the mixture evenly among the cups of a 12-cup muffin tin, pressing the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of each cup.
  • Combine slivered almonds, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of butter in a small pan. Pour in the cream and add 2 teaspoons of flour. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it boils, approximately 10 minutes. Divide the filling evenly among the tart shells.
  • Bake until the tops and crust edges are lightly golden, for 10 to 15 minutes. Let the tarts cool in the muffin pan for another 10 to 15 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
