Irresistible sweet and spicy beef meatballs paired with zesty orange mash.
Ingredients:
  • 600g sweet potato, peeled, coarsely chopped
  • 300g carrots, peeled, coarsely chopped
  • 600g beef mince
  • 82.50 ml chopped fresh continental parsley leaves
  • 40.00 ml currants
  • 20.00 ml harissa paste
  • 200g (3/4 cup) Greek-style yoghurt
  • 24.00 gm tahini
  • 42.00 gm fresh lemon juice
  • 2 bunches broccolini
  • Sweet paprika, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, combine the sweet potato and carrot. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil over high heat. Simmer vigorously for 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain the vegetables, then return them to the pan and mash until smooth. Season to taste, cover to keep warm, and set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix together ground beef, fresh parsley, dried currants, and spicy harissa. Season the mixture and form it into 8 meatballs.
  • In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, sizzle the meatballs in hot oil for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked, turning occasionally.
  • In a bowl, mix together the yoghurt, tahini, and lemon juice. Season the mixture. Next, blanch the broccolini in a pot of boiling water for 1 minute, or until it turns bright green and is tender crisp. Drain the broccolini.
  • Assemble the mashed potatoes, meatballs, and broccolini elegantly on a serving platter. Accompany with a side of creamy tahini yogurt and a sprinkle of paprika.
