Homemade Jack Daniels BBQ sauce recipe, a delicious copycat of T.G.I. Friday's whiskey sauce for salmon, ribs, chicken, and pork.
Ingredients:
  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1.3333333730698 cups dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 0.66666668653488 cup water
  • 0.25 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons minced white onion
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon crushed pineapple
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions:
  • Heat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Prepare the garlic head by cutting off the top, trimming the root to make it flat, and removing the outer layers of skin while keeping the cloves intact.
  • Put garlic in a small baking dish, generously drizzle with olive oil, and tightly cover with a lid or aluminum foil.
  • Roast garlic in the preheated oven until soft and fragrant, around 1 hour.
  • Combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, water, teriyaki sauce, and soy sauce in a saucepan, bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat.
  • Extract the pasty, roasted garlic by squeezing the sides of the garlic bulb.
  • Add the savory aroma of 2 teaspoons of roasted garlic into the saucepan and blend it in by whisking gently. Save the rest of the roasted garlic for future culinary creations.
  • Combine lemon juice, onion, bourbon whiskey, pineapple, and cayenne pepper in the sauce, then simmer until the liquid reduces by half and thickens to a syrup-like consistency, about 40 to 50 minutes.
