Homemade BBQ meatball sliders - perfect for Game Day snacking!
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 0.5 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 0.66666668653488 cup molasses (such as Grandma's®)
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons dry mustard powder (such as Colman's®)
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®), or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 0.75 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon stone-ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon grill seasoning (such as Montreal Steak Seasoning®)
  • 12 slider-size burger buns
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place a baking rack on a foil-lined pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, saute onion in oil for 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in ketchup, molasses, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, hot sauce, and cayenne pepper; mix well. Bring to a boil, then simmer on medium-low for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water if needed to adjust thickness.
  • Combine beef, pork, bread crumbs, milk, egg, mustard, steak seasoning, and garlic in a bowl. Use a 2-tablespoon cookie scoop to shape into 1 1/2-inch meatballs. Arrange evenly on a rack for even browning.
  • Cook the meatballs in the preheated oven until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C), for 25-30 minutes.
  • Fold meatballs into the luscious BBQ sauce and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until heated through. Serve the saucy meatballs on the slider buns.
