Indulgent French casserole with potatoes and cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 3.5 ounces bacon, diced
  • 1.5 cups dry white wine
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices Reblochon cheese
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, submerge the potatoes in salted water and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer for approximately 20 minutes until the potatoes are tender. Drain and wait for them to cool down. Peel and slice the potatoes when they are easy to handle.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onions until soft and translucent, around 5 minutes. Add potatoes and bacon, cover, and simmer over medium-low heat for 15 minutes. Stir in wine, salt, and pepper.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and generously grease a baking dish.
  • Pour the potato mixture into the baking dish and top it with delicious Reblochon cheese.
  • Bake until the cheese is gooey and golden brown, approximately 30 minutes in the preheated oven.
