Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 pounds prime rib roast, ribs removed and trussed onto roast, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and position a rack in a roasting pan.
  • Combine garlic powder, onion powder, dill weed, pepper, and salt in a bowl, then massage onto the roast, making sure to cover the ribs. Position the roast with the ribs facing downward on a rack in a roasting pan.
  • Roast in the oven at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 45 minutes. Afterward, turn off the oven and leave the roast inside with the door closed for 3 hours. Turn the oven back on to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and continue cooking the roast until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F (65 degrees C), about 30 minutes.
