Deliciously melty blend of cheddar, Havarti, and colby Jack with sweet figs and earthy shiitake mushrooms take grilled cheese to the next level.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup figs
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms
  • 4 slices Dietz & Watson Havarti
  • 4 slices Dietz & Watson Yellow Cheddar
  • 4 slices Dietz & Watson Colby Jack
  • 4 slices hearth bread
Instructions:
  • Preheat a pan over medium-high heat and evenly spread butter.
  • Dice the figs and mushrooms, then saute in a pan for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Stack six slices of cheese on a slice of hearth bread with 1/2 cup figs and 1/2 cup shiitake mushrooms. Add the rest of the cheese, figs, and mushrooms on another slice. Top each sandwich with the remaining bread and cook in a pan until the cheese melts, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  • Halve the sandwiches and present beautifully.
