Three-Cheese Sausage and Potato Casserole

Cheesy mashed potato casserole with Polska kielbasa sausage, a decadent twist on a classic comfort dish!
Ingredients:
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 2/3 cups Betty Crocker™ mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
  • 1 pound fully cooked Polska-kielbasa or Other smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Progresso™ dry bread crumbs (any flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, bring water, milk, 1/4 cup butter, and salt to a boil. Remove from heat, then mix in potatoes until moistened. Let sit for about 30 seconds until liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork to desired consistency, then mix in sour cream and Cheddar cheese.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x9x2-inch square pan. Layer half of the potato mixture in the pan, place the sausage on top, and then spread the remaining potato mixture on top. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Combine the remaining ingredients and sprinkle over the top.
  • Bake until golden brown, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes.
