Quick and delicious barbecue tofu appetizers ready in just 20 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons cold water
  • 2/3 cup unseasoned dry bread crumbs
  • Dash of ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 package (12 oz) extra-firm tofu packed in water, drained, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup barbecue sauce, sweet-and-sour sauce, salsa or ketchup
Instructions:
  • Whisk flour and water in a small bowl until smooth. In a shallow dish or pie plate, combine bread crumbs, salt, and red pepper.
  • Coat tofu cubes in batter and then bread crumb mixture.
  • Heat a generous amount of oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook 15 nuggets at a time for about 1 minute, flipping once, until they turn golden brown. Place the nuggets on paper towels to drain. Serve hot with barbecue sauce.
