Ingredients:
  • 5 slices bacon
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
Instructions:
  • Cook the bacon in a large, deep skillet over medium heat until evenly browned and crisp, about 15 minutes, then cool on the side, keeping the drippings in the skillet.
  • Combine vegetable oil and flour with the bacon drippings, cooking and stirring until the flour browns, about 5 minutes. Add onions and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Mix in stewed tomatoes, breaking them apart, then crumble in bacon. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and simmer until gravy thickens, about 10 minutes.
