Festive holiday apple crisp with cranberries, brown sugar, oats, and a touch of orange - perfect for fall and winter.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup orange juice
  • 5 cups fresh cranberries
  • 4 Gala apples - peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 0.75 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 0.33333334326744 cup butter, softened
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x12-inch baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, bring the orange juice, sugar, and half of the cranberries to a boil over medium heat. Let it simmer until the cranberries pop, about 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add in the apples and remaining cranberries. Once done, cool slightly before transferring to the prepared baking dish.
  • Combine pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and oats in a bowl. Add butter and mix well. Sprinkle oat topping over the fruit mixture.
  • Bake in the hot oven until the filling is bubbling and the oat topping is golden brown, approximately 45 minutes.
