Ingredients:
  • vegetable oil for grill
  • 3 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons ground black pepper
  • 2 pounds tri tip roast
Instructions:
  • Heat up your outdoor grill until it's nice and hot, then give the grate a light coating of oil.
  • Combine garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Massage the mixture onto both sides of the tri-tip roast.
  • Preheat the grill and sear the roast on both sides until the center is light pink, which should take about 20 to 25 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the center reaches 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) for medium doneness. Let the roast rest briefly before slicing it at an angle.
