Indulge in flavorful grilled tuna with a zesty fruit salsa topping.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lb tuna steaks, 3/4 to 1 inch thick
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons chili oil
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small avocado, pitted, peeled and coarsely chopped (1 cup)
  • 1 kiwifruit, peeled, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 3 medium green onions, chopped (3 tablespoons)
  • 1 small jalapeño chile, seeded, finely chopped (1 tablespoon)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • For large tuna steaks, divide them into 6 serving pieces. Combine the remaining tuna ingredients in a shallow glass or plastic dish. Place the tuna in the dish and coat it with the marinade by turning it. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours, turning once, to marinate.
  • Mix all the salsa ingredients in a medium bowl and chill in the refrigerator.
  • Prep grill by spraying rack with cooking spray and heating it up. Take tuna out of marinade, keeping the marinade for later. Grill tuna, brushing with marinade and flipping occasionally, until cooked to perfection. Serve with salsa on top. Dispose of any leftover marinade.
