Elevate tuna casserole with creamy Alfredo sauce and crunchy seasoned croutons for a quick and delicious meal in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, coarsely chopped (1 cup)
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 cups uncooked medium egg noodles (8 oz)
  • 1 package (8 oz) sliced fresh mushrooms (about 3 cups)
  • 2 cans (5 oz each) solid white tuna in water, drained
  • 1 jar (16 oz) Alfredo pasta sauce
  • 1 cup seasoned croutons, coarsely crushed
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook onion for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until softened.
  • Combine water and noodles in the pot. Cover the pot and bring it to a boil. Let it boil for 4 minutes.
  • Mix in the mushrooms, tuna, and pasta sauce, letting the sauce gently simmer uncovered on medium heat for 4 to 6 minutes until the mushrooms are soft, the sauce slightly thickens, and the noodles are tender.
  • Allow the dish to rest for 5 minutes off the heat. Just before serving, sprinkle with croutons.
