Create a gourmet steak sandwich with juicy steak, onions, garlic-Parmesan mayo, provolone cheese, and Italian seasoning on a toasted roll. Time to dig in!
Ingredients:
  • 4 hard rolls, split
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 pounds round steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced and quartered
  • 1 pinch coarse sea salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.125 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 8 (1 ounce) slices provolone cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a blazing 500 degrees F (260 degrees C), then toast the rolls on a baking sheet inside. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, and chill until needed. Take out the rolls when perfectly toasted.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil until shimmering. Add sliced steak and onions, then season with sea salt, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Saute until steak is browned and onions are tender, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Spread the garlic-Parmesan mayonnaise on toasted rolls. Layer steak and onions on bottom halves, top with provolone cheese, sprinkle with Italian seasoning, and cover with the tops to make sandwiches.
  • Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven until the cheese is gooey and melted, approximately 5 minutes.
