Blend watermelon, lime juice, basil syrup, and rose ice cubes for a refreshing summer frose.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (750 milliliter) bottle rose wine
  • 1 pound cubed seeded watermelon
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 6 leaves fresh basil
  • 0.25 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
Instructions:
  • Fill ice cube trays with delightful rose wine and allow it to freeze completely, either overnight or for at least 8 hours.
  • Place watermelon cubes on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure they are not touching. Freeze until solid, for at least 2 hours, then transfer to a resealable plastic bag and return to the freezer.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, mix water and sugar until sugar dissolves, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in basil and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let it steep for 15 minutes. Strain the simple syrup into a lidded jar, discard basil leaves, and chill in the refrigerator.
  • In a large blender, combine rose ice cubes, frozen watermelon, chilled simple syrup, and lime juice. Blend until smooth and pour into glasses.
