Transform summer refreshment by blending watermelon into crowd-pleasing margaritas for a fruity twist and a whole new level of indulgence.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups tequila blanco (also called plato or silver tequila)
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur, such as Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 4 cups chopped seedless watermelon
  • Simple syrup or agave nectar, if needed to sweeten
  • Kosher or other high quality salt, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for garnish
Instructions:
  • For the quickest prep, blend tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and seedless watermelon until smooth. Note: If you have a juicer, juice the watermelon and mix with the other ingredients in a pitcher. If needed, blend in batches based on blender size.
  • Strain out the watermelon solids by pouring the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, while pressing the solids to extract maximum liquid.
  • Prepare the glasses: Fill a small plate or bowl with salt. Rub the rim of a cocktail or coupe glass (or a canning jar) with a lime wedge. Dip the glass into the salt and twist gently.
  • To present: Pour the cocktail into the glasses and adorn with a lime wedge.
