Whip up a batch of playful wave cookies for the ultimate kids' pool party treat!
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 2/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 tube (0.68 oz) Betty Crocker™ blue decorating gel
  • 1 piece red pull-apart licorice
  • 1 Betty Crocker™ Fruit by the Foot™ fruit snack roll (from 4.5-oz package)
  • About 4 gummy rings candy
  • About 2 sticks striped gum
  • 2 creme-filled wafer cookies
  • 8 teddy bear-shaped graham snacks
  • About 4 small gum balls, if desired
  • Gummy sharks or fish candy, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Mix sugar, butter, vanilla, and egg in a large bowl until smooth. Add flour and combine. Press dough into an ungreased 12-inch pizza pan.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges turn a light golden brown. Allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for about 45 minutes.
  • Spread a layer of frosting on the cookie, then squeeze decorating gel in approximately 16 spots over the frosting. Use a fork to create wave designs through the gel. Place licorice on the waves to resemble "rope," cut fruit roll into triangles to place alongside the licorice as "flags," and add gummy rings for inner tubes. Roll up gum sticks to make "inflatable floats" and place them on the waves. Finish off by placing cookies on the waves to resemble rafts, adding graham snacks as "people," gum balls as "beach balls," and gummy sharks for an extra touch.
