Festive holiday appetizer: Goat cheese dip layered with bacon, pistachios, dried fruit, and honey. Easy to make ahead!
Ingredients:
  • For the whipped goat cheese:
  • 10 ounces goat cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • Pinch kosher salt
  • For the toppings:
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons golden raisins
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
  • 2 tablespoons chopped dates or dried figs
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
  • 1 tablespoon minced chives
  • Pita chips, for serving
Instructions:
  • Create a velvety goat cheese mixture: Combine goat cheese, yogurt, milk, lemon juice, and salt in a medium bowl. Whip the ingredients using a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth and airy. For a creamier texture, gradually add more milk as needed, mixing well after each addition. Aim for a spreadable consistency perfect for your favorite dippables!
  • Prepare the dip by spreading a thin, even layer of whipped goat cheese in a 2 1/2-quart or 8 x 8-inch baking dish. Ensure it's no thicker than 1/2-inch. Drizzle with honey and evenly sprinkle bacon, golden raisins, pistachios, dates, sunflower seeds, and minced chives. Refrigerate until ready to enjoy. Serve with pita chips. This dip can be made 2 to 3 days ahead; add honey and chives before serving.
