Whisky old fashioned

Enhance whiskey with bitters and a twist for a smoother, sweeter flavor profile.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon caster sugar
  • 4 dashes of Angostura Bitters
  • 50 ml Dewars Scotch whisky
  • cubed ice
  • 1 orange to garnish
Instructions:
  • In a rocks glass, combine sugar, 4 dashes of Angostura Bitters, and a splash of hot water. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add 3-4 ice cubes and half of the Scotch whisky; stir for about 60 seconds. Top up with more ice and add the remaining rye whisky, then stir for another 60 seconds. Cut a thumb-sized piece of orange peel. Gently twist and release to let the oils settle on the drink's surface. Drop in the orange peel, stir a few more times, and serve.
