Try these delicious homemade cheesy wafers for a satisfying baked snack.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 lb sharp white Cheddar cheese, shredded (4 cups)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend butter, cheese, salt, red pepper, and garlic powder until smooth. Slowly add flour and mix until just combined. Fold in pecans.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal parts, then roll each part into a 10-inch log. Wrap the logs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Unwrap the logs and cut each into 24 pieces. Flatten each piece into a 2-inch round, then place them on the lined cookie sheets, keeping them 1 inch apart.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown, then transfer to cooling racks.
