Ideal for sharing with friends and family, this recipe yields 36 delicious brownies!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 packages (6 oz each) white chocolate baking bars, cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried cherries or cranberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F and grease a 13x9-inch pan. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat together brown sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract, and eggs until light and fluffy.
  • Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt on low speed until well blended. Reserve 1/4 cup of white chocolate bar chunks. Add the rest of the chunks, almonds, and cherries, then spread the batter evenly in the pan.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and set. Allow to cool completely for about 1 hour.
  • Microwave the white chocolate chunks and oil in a small microwavable bowl on High for 30 to 60 seconds, stirring every 15 seconds until melted. Stir well and drizzle the glaze over the bars. Alternatively, place the glaze in a small food-storage plastic bag, cut off a small tip from one corner, and drizzle the glaze in diagonal lines over the bars. Let the glaze set for about 3 hours. Cut the bars into 6 rows by 6 rows.
