French classic white sauce, béchamel, a versatile base for various dishes. Great with veggies, seafood, or chicken.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup milk
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, gently melt butter over low heat. Add flour, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and bubbly; then remove from heat.
  • Slowly pour the milk into the mixture while stirring continuously. Bring to a boil and stir constantly; let it boil for 1 minute.
