White Sauce for Pasta

Indulgent white pasta sauce made with low-fat milk for a guilt-free, creamy delight with any pasta!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cube chicken bouillon, crumbled
  • 1.5 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • ground white pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter and margarine. Add flour and crumbled bouillon, stirring until well blended for 1 to 2 minutes. Keep stirring until thickened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  • Turn up the heat to medium and whisk in water until smooth. Add milk and continue cooking and stirring until thickened and hot, about 2 to 3 minutes. Finish by seasoning with white pepper.
