Sourdough whole wheat biscuits: perfect for pot pies or with sausage gravy.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white whole wheat flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.33333334326744 cup cold salted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt by sifting. Cut in butter until it resembles peas. Mix in sourdough starter until dough just comes together.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead it 5 to 10 times. Pat the dough down to a 3/4-inch thickness and cut it into 10 biscuits. Arrange the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake until beautifully golden, for 12-15 minutes.
