Delicious whole wheat scones with oats and blueberries, fully customizable.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 12 tablespoons butter, cubed and chilled
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and grease a baking sheet with a light touch.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Use a pastry cutter or 2 knives to work in butter cubes until crumbly.
  • In a bowl, combine the half-and-half and egg. Add this mixture to the flour-butter mixture, then gently fold in the blueberries and oats.
  • Place the dough on a lightly floured surface, divide it in half, and then roll each half into a circle. Cut each circle into 8 wedges and transfer the scones to the baking sheet. Sprinkle the top with raw sugar.
  • Bake until beautifully golden, about 12-15 minutes in the preheated oven.
