Create delicious Mexican-inspired dish or fry wedges for whole wheat tortilla chips without baking powder.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup warm water
Instructions:
  • Combine the flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Pour in water and mix until well combined. Gradually add more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until a soft, pliable dough forms.
  • On a lightly floured surface, gently knead the dough. Then, divide it into 16 equal pieces, cover, and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  • Coat each ball generously in flour, then sandwich between two sheets of wax paper and roll to your preferred size and thickness.
  • Preheat a dry skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the wax paper and grill the rounds until golden brown underneath. Flip and cook the other side. Enjoy warm or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.
