Indulge in a delectable blackberry pie with a simple mix of fresh blackberries, flour, sugar, and a golden crust.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons boiling water
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries, rinsed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
  • Prepare the pastry dough by sifting together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Use a pastry cutter to incorporate the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Pour boiling water into the bowl and stir until a dough forms. Divide the dough in half and roll out two crusts. Gently place one crust into a 9-inch pie pan to form the bottom layer.
  • Heat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Create the filling by blending sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Gently fold in the berries. Transfer the luscious filling into the pie crust. Finish with a drizzle of lemon juice and scattered butter dots.
  • Place the top pastry over the filling and crimp the edges to seal.
  • Place in the preheated oven on the lower shelf and bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
