Boil corn until tender for perfect juicy, sweet kernels ready for butter and salt.
Ingredients:
  • 3 ears of corn, husks on
Instructions:
  • Bring at least 6 cups of water to a rolling boil in a large pot over high heat. Omit salt for now to ensure tender corn. Season the corn after cooking for optimal taste.
  • Prepare the corn by shucking it to remove the husk and silks. Pull apart the silks at the top of the ear, grab the top of the husk and silks on one side of the corn, and pull it down and away from the ear of corn. Repeat until all husks are removed, then pick away any remaining silks.
  • Prepare the corn: Trim off both ends just enough to remove any dry or damaged kernels and the stalk.
  • Carefully add the corn to the boiling water, working in batches of 3 to 4 ears at a time to prevent overcrowding. Stay vigilant and remove the corn promptly once it's cooked to perfection.
  • Boil the corn for 3 to 5 minutes until kernels plump and darken slightly, then remove with tongs.
  • Serve the corn on a platter, generously top with butter and salt, and enjoy while it's still warm.
