Elegant appetizer with garlic, shallots, and dry vermouth.
Ingredients:
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dry vermouth
  • 1 (8 ounce) round Brie cheese
  • 3 sheets phyllo dough
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine shallot, garlic, white pepper, and vermouth in a small bowl. Set aside. Remove the top rind of brie, leaving a 1/4-inch border. Place brie on a baking sheet and spread shallot mixture over it. Fold phyllo sheets in half to make squares. Wrap brie in phyllo, tucking edges underneath. Trim corners if needed for a neat finish. Brush with melted butter for a golden pastry crust.
  • Place the dish in the oven and bake until the phyllo is golden brown and the brie cheese is soft, for about 20 minutes. Serve while warm.
