Succulent shrimp sautéed in garlicky brandy sauce with herbs. Perfect with rice pilaf and salad.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1.5 pounds fresh shrimp, shelled and deveined without tails
  • 0.5 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot, chopped
  • 0.5 cup fresh parsley, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons white wine
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
Instructions:
  • Mix flour, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl until well combined. Coat shrimp in the flour mixture.
  • Sear the shrimp in olive oil in a large skillet over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently to avoid burning. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the shrimp to a serving dish, keeping the flavorful oil in the pan.
  • Saute the garlic, shallot, parsley, and oregano in the same pan over medium heat for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Spoon the flavorful mixture over the shrimp, then preheat your broiler to medium heat.
  • Combine the wine and brandy in the skillet and carefully ignite with a match or lighter. Once the flames subside, gently stir to scrape up any flavorful bits from the bottom of the skillet before pouring over the shrimp.
  • Broil the shrimp in a preheated oven for 2 minutes in a serving dish.
