Amaretto custard filling enhances chocolate cakes beautifully.
Ingredients:
  • 5 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and stir in milk. Combine with dry mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly. Cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat, add almond liqueur and stir thoroughly. Cover filling surface with plastic wrap to prevent a film from forming. Chill completely before using.
