Traditional Italian almond macaroon - crispy outside, chewy inside, and gets crunchy over time. Perfect with any fruit dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups blanched slivered almonds
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) and prepare your baking sheets with a cozy layer of parchment paper.
  • Pulse almonds in a food processor until finely ground. Add sugar and pulse for 15 seconds. Then, add egg whites and almond extract and pulse until a smooth dough forms.
  • Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto baking sheets, ensuring cookies are spaced at least 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden. Cool cookies completely on parchment paper before storing in a dry place.
