Italian festive almond cookies topped with candied cherries. Ideal for celebrating weddings or Christmas.
Ingredients:
  • 7 egg whites
  • 2.5 cups white sugar
  • 2 pounds ground almonds
  • 2 tablespoons almond extract
  • 1 cup chopped almonds
  • 0.33333334326744 cup granulated sugar for decoration
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Whisk egg whites and sugar until fluffy. Stir in ground almond and almond extract until combined. Form dough into walnut sized balls, coat with sugar, and garnish each with an almond or candied cherry on top.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) until firm and the bottom is lightly browned.
