Anzac biscuits: A beloved Aussie treat with oats, coconut, sugar, butter, and golden syrup.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup flaked coconut
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 2 tablespoons boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a baking sheet by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • Combine oats, sugar, flour, and coconut in a large bowl and set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, gently melt butter and golden syrup together. In a small bowl, mix boiling water and baking soda, then add to the melted butter mixture. Pour over the oats and combine thoroughly. Spoon the dough onto a baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the edges turn golden brown, for about 18 to 20 minutes. Let it cool on the baking sheet briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
