Apple and fresh date crumble

Indulge in guilt-free apple crumble with a healthy twist.
Ingredients:
  • 4 golden delicious apples, peeled, cored, chopped
  • 100g fresh dates, pitted, chopped
  • 80ml orange juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 33.00 gm rolled oats
  • 50g slivered almonds
  • 10.40 gm shredded coconut
  • Light cream, to serve (optional)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. Combine apples, dates, orange juice, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. Cover and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the fruit is tender.
  • Remove the cinnamon stick and evenly distribute the mixture into four 1/2 cup ovenproof dishes.
  • Mix together the oats, almonds, and coconut and evenly sprinkle over the dish. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy with a dollop of cream, if preferred.
