Elevate traditional apple crumble with sweet pears and tangy cranberries for a fresh twist.
Ingredients:
  • 600g apple
  • 650g pear
  • 0.63 gm ground cinnamon
  • 84.38 gm maple-flavoured syrup
  • 82.50 ml dried cranberries
  • 100.00 gm rolled oats
  • 82.50 ml plain flour
  • 20.00 ml vanillin sugar (see note)
  • 80g butter, chilled, chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Combine apple, pear, cinnamon, syrup, and cranberries in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook covered for 5 minutes until the apple is tender, stirring halfway through. Transfer the mixture to a 6cm-deep, 6 cup-capacity ovenproof dish.
  • Prepare topping: Mix oats, flour, and sugar in a bowl. Use your fingertips to blend butter into the oat mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over the fruit mixture. Bake until golden, about 10 minutes. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
