Portable snack or quick fruity dessert: Apple butter layered between rich oats.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2.5 cups rolled oats
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup margarine, melted
  • 1.5 cups apple butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, oats, and sugar. Mix in the margarine until well combined. Press half of the oat mixture into the baking pan, spread apple butter on top, and sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over it. Gently press down with a spoon.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the oat mixture is golden brown and crisp, about 55 minutes.
